Bianca Ahumada and Mischa Diaz each scored two goals as No. 9-seeded EVC Women's Soccer (15-6-1) cruised by visiting No. 24-seeded College of the Sequoias (10-9-3) 5-1 on Tuesday evening.
The 15 wins are the second-most in Felicia Perez's 20 seasons at EVC.
The Hawks will now host No. 8-seeded Lake Tahoe (12-5-4) in a rematch on Saturday, November 22 at 7 p.m. LTC received a first-round bye as a top-eight Northern seed.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for EVC staff, students, seniors, and children under 12. Cash only at the door.
Ahumada opened up the scoring in the opening two minutes, finding the left corner for a 1-0 lead. Diaz then followed with the next two to build a 3-0 halftime lead. Diaz scored from 20 yards out in the eighth minute and then followed in the 17th minute in front of the box amongst a mix of players.
Ahumada, who ranks in the top-15 in the State in scoring, found the net in the 61st minute to make it 4-0. It was her 17th goal of the year.
COS' Melanie Navarro briefly cut the lead to 4-1 in the 72nd minute, before Naomi Wright finished off the scoring in the 83rd minute, scoring on a rebound in front of the net.
It is EVC's 10th-straight 32CA playoff appearance.
Playoff games are on November 19, 22, 25, and 29. The State Final Four for both men and women are December 5 and 7 at Saddleback College.
